The success of the medical industry today is due to years of research and efforts by physicians, physician-scientists, scholars, and various other professionals who have investigated the causes and treatments for the diseases affecting society. The relentless efforts of these professionals have launched cures for life-threatening diseases and conditions. The practice is never going to stop. As long as medical researchers contribute their services to improve treatment and find the causes of diseases, the world will experience a reduction in the greatest health problems. Like any other medical field, physical therapy also depends on theories and research contributed by the well-known therapist-scientists, who introduce solutions to bring a great change in the lives of patients suffering from various physical ailments. Education and scientific research are major factors in improving physical therapy practice. A large number of medical researchers worldwide contribute to ensuring better and more effective treatments for the patients. One such individual is Dr. Richard Bohannon – an American physical therapy clinician, researcher, scholar, and educator. He is a physical therapy expert who has revolutionized the field of physical therapy science. Dr. Bohannon has contributed to the betterment of humanity and the improvement of physical therapy science.
Physical therapy includes exercise, manual methods, and modalities, which have been the core factors of this practice. The physical therapy field is entirely based on practical implementation; it is strongly based on scientific training and core research in healthcare systems. There are always new demands in the industry, and in order to meet those requirements, physical therapy researchers fill the gap with their research. Clinical skills and theoretical knowledge are essential factors of physical therapy treatment. Dr. Richard Bohannon agrees with the significance of the research. He believes that bringing science closer to clinical practice is necessary to develop the profession. However, there are some barriers to implementing research into practice, such as a lack of skills and time for searching and evaluating. Therefore, numerous researchers worldwide put in restless effort to significantly improve physical therapy practices.
The medical and healthcare industry cannot realize advancements and improvements without proper research. The human body is based on complex systems; it is difficult to learn how it operates and what needs to be done to treat particular diseases or injuries. In such conditions, physical therapists and researchers appear to contribute to identifying the problems, finding causes, and providing effective treatments to improve muscle and overall physical conditions. Dr. Richard Bohannon is one such individual who has developed a prominent name in the healthcare industry due to his contributions and recognition. Dr. Bohannon was ranked among the top 1% of worldwide experts in muscle and hand strength in 2020 by Expertscape. He also received Campbell University’s senior alumni award for his advanced Research Excellence.
