Currently spending some time with his family in Cornwall, British singer/songwriter Maddox Jones reflects and feels grateful to have a full-length record. With the release of his debut solo album ‘Believe It,’ Jones has a packed schedule with upcoming school tours and preparing live shows at fans’ gardens.
Following up on his previous successful releases, Jones put pen to paper and journaled his way through a self-exploratory journey, questioned what it means to be happy, and created a collection of sing-along bangers.
While enjoying some quality family time, Jones talks to VENTS about the album’s feedback, working with producers, and future plans.
Hey Maddox Jones, thank you for joining us today, how is your week going so far?
My week is going great, I’m in Cornwall visiting my family.
‘Believe It‘ is sparking some great interest and there’s been some great reviews of the album. How pleased are you with the album and how it’s being received?
Yeah, it’s great! I’m really proud of the album and I feel like more people are taking notice of me now I have a record out. It’s good having a body of work.
There’s a running underlying theme throughout the album that sparks hope and optimism. How important do you think it is that artists create these themes after the last few years?
It came naturally to me really. I think artists should express themselves how they want but it does seem like a lot of people are looking to music for hope more than ever right now and that’s a beautiful thing.
Who did you work with to produce the album and how did that come about?
I worked on the album with Dave Crawford and Louis Souyave. They’ve both been my friends for years and I trust them with my songs they always deliver.
Are there any plans for live shows in the future?
Yes, I’ve got a busy schedule this summer with a schools tour, a tour of my fans gardens and some festivals. Keep an eye out on my socials for more!
How did it feel being tipped for ‘one to watch’ by BBC Introducing, and is there anything you’ve got planned to help continue on this upward trend?
It felt great and yes I’ve got some national radio play coming very soon! But I can’t say anything yet!
To you, what has been your biggest personal achievement in your musical career?
Writing the best music of my life for this album and never giving up.
And to finish off, what’s been your favourite album release of 2022 so far?
The Weekend – Dawn FM
