This week we want to spotlight brand new experimental progressive rock rap duo “Noise From The Void.”
The group just released their second single “That’s Fine” and fuses complex instrumentation, grungy vocals and some diverse rapping to create a song that transcends traditional genre barriers. While the chorus is catchy and memorable, it’s also solemn and dark with lines such as “Every single thing I took was self prescribed/I just hope my funeral is televised.”
While Noise From the Void just began releasing music in late April, the duo consists of Detroit-born rapper Figure 8 — who’s catalog includes tracks with Spice One, Bill $aber and Keith Murray — and Young Ned, who’s musical prowess you can hear throughout the track as he plays every single instrument for the song.
Vents Mag caught up with Figure 8 after NFTV’s most recent single drop and asked what we can expect from them in the future.
“We’re going to push the boundaries of music genres in every direction,” Figure 8 said. “At the same time, we’re going to be paying homage to everything that made us fall in love with music to begin with. No matter what happens we’re going to stay true to ourselves and make the music we want to make.”
Follow NFTV on Instagram and Spotify to stay up to date with them. Vents Mag is predicting you’ll be hearing a lot from Noise From The Void in the next year — this type of sound is unique and will resonate with listeners across genres.
