Thousands of Greek public sector workers, including teachers, doctors and transport workers, walked off the job on Thursday in protest against the country’s conservative government’s proposed policy changes to labor laws.
The Prime Minister of Greece said that the proposed changes will eliminate undeclared jobs and improve the employment environment; But opponents of the government believe that these changes are considered an attack on workers’ rights.
On Thursday, the working hours of trains and buses were significantly reduced in response to the request of the largest trade union to strike.
