Wycliffe Jean, the famous American hip-hop singer, announced the establishment of his car factory last week with the unveiling of a sports car. This factory is called Atex and it is going to start its car production in the city of Miami in America.
Jean is 53 years old, was born in Haiti and rose to fame in the nineties with the band Fugees. He is a three-time Grammy Music Award winner and is known for his collaborations with other artists, including Shakira. Wycliffe Jean is also active in charity affairs and in 2011 he planned to become the president of Haiti.
The car that ATEX unveiled in 2020 was designed in the UK by a company called APEX and its name is AP0. The driving force is an electric car and its designers say that it is the lightest electric sports car with a weight of 1200 kg. The maximum speed of the car is 305 km/h and acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is 2.3 seconds. Apex says that the car can travel up to 550 kilometers on a single charge.
The price of AP0 is 350 thousand dollars, which is much cheaper than its competitors. The Atex competes with cars like the Rimac Novara, Pininfarina Battista and Lotus Oya, all of which cost millions. Tesla also plans to build a sports car, which is said to cost $200,000.
