‘No Te Vayas’ is the second single from Columbian rock singer Catalina Hernández. The song, tucked away for a year and revisited by the singer, was inspired by a platonic love she experienced at that time. The song was recorded at Kronos Studios, home to Colombian rock band Kronos, and released in March of last year. Produced by Carlos Galvez and Javier “Newi ” Rosero, the track details the pain felt whilst missing someone, knowing that life won’t be the same without them and having to face it anyway. Hernández expresses her longing in lines such as “La musa en mi cabeza está dañada, no te dejo de pensar, mi mano acaricia tu cabello, en mi mente aquí estas”.
Born in Cali, Columbia and raised by her music lover family, music runs through Catalina’s blood. She first began developing her performance skills at the Columbian British School of Cali, recognised for its musical productions By fusing her love of The Beatles with her musical theatre skills, she went on to win a rock contest ‘Rockopolis’, which allowed her to record her first single ‘Sin Mirar Atras’ in 2016. Since moving to Bogotá, she has won various contests at the city’s university including El Festival Universitario and is working towards her musical career. She would love to receive more views for her music video for ‘No Te Vayas’ released last year, in which she filmed in one day with director Davitty.
