Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Been great!! Thanks for having us! Excited to be sharing some new music!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “This Is Paradise”?
Imagine you’re standing on a field in the middle of summer just after the sun goes down watching some live music… this is the song we want to play for you.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I wouldn’t say an event… it was a moment. We had a moment to write something and the next thing you know…
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
We filmed this video one day and I edited it the next day… I really wanted to do a quick video for us this time. If you go through our catalog of videos, you’ll see some super ambitious pieces… I love directing videos, but time just wasn’t as abundant this time around.
How was the recording and writing process?
We write, record and mix most everything ourselves – we always have about a dozen songs in the works, and we pick from those for singles. For this one, I started the main riff on a synth and then got together with the band and we got it closer to where it is. I shared it with my friend Morgan Rose of the band Sevendust… he had some great ideas for us that we tried and worked out!
What role does NYC play in your music?
Most of what we write about happened here or within a few miles of here.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
We have a whole albums worth of new material we’re wrapping up… we’ve taken things in such exciting new directions and we absolutely love playing these new songs… so Yes! Yes, lots more music coming very soon!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We’re aiming to release a song called ‘Summer High’ in June!
What else is happening next in Don’t Believe In Ghost’s world?
It feels like it may be time to tour again… we haven’t been able to get out there since 2019… once we get everything recorded we’ll make that happen! Oh and I’m sure… some more elaborate videos!
