VENTS caught up with Ekaterina Behor to talk about her film project ‘Margaret’ and working with action film legend Larnell Stovall.
Welcome to VENTS. Can you tell us about life before producing films?
My pleasure. I have a journalist diploma, I worked a bit in this field, then I worked in the stocks market, after that I worked in marketing – creating strategies for social media, then I started producing, directing, and shooting commercials.
Congratulations on the movie ‘Margaret’ where you are credited amongst Hollywood royalty. Can you tell us about the movie?
Yes, I am very grateful to work with this great director, professional crew, and amazing celebrity cast. When Larnell Stovall (the director) showed me the script, I loved it. It has good pace, a lot of suspense, and shows the women’s power. Then I saw a reference that he made to his storyboard artist, and I wanted to make this project happen and see the final project. You could find this movie on YouTube.
What was it like working with Larnell Stovall of ‘Captain America: Civil War and ‘Titans?
I was happy when Larnell Stovall called me on board, he works on big sets in Hollywood, and he has a great attitude and strong director ’s vision. He wanted to create this project in a specific way, and I tried my best for his dream project to come true. Larnell is passionate about this movie, and I was happy to be a part of it.
The movie stars Tait Fletcher (Free Guy) and Ellen Hollman (The Matrix Resurrection), what was it like working with the cast?
I always wanted to work with these professional actors who have such big experience, I was amazed at how focused and professional they were. They knew all their lines (First scene is about 5 pages), they felt the mood of each scene and were really focused, and they are both amazing at stunts. I would love to work with both of them again. Ellen was also a Creative Producer, and I see her impact on the movie. She is a superhero for me – on the screen and in the real life.
What do you want people to take away from the film?
I like this project because of the meaning and the visual part as well. For me, this film is a hymn for a strong woman, for our power, and how it is important to remember who you are. And the visuals of the movie look great, stunts are on a high level. We spent a lot of time on this part because it was important to look intense and real, and Larnell has great experience in stunts, so we had to be perfect. This movie has a deep meaning, but also, it’s a great eye attraction.
You have worked on several movies. Which has been your favorite and why?
I can’t choose one, because all of them have interesting stories and I learned a lot working on them as well. But definitely, Margaret would be Top-3.
What do you have coming up next?
We have just finished shooting a pilot for Subconscious Dreamer, and then we are going to shoot the whole season. I can’t wait to see the cut for the first episode. The story is also about a strong woman. In a world in which the ability to dream has been abolished, Elizabeth Parker awakes from a dream for the first time. This dream reveals a family she never knew and the powerful image of a Dark Horse that become her reality.
How can people follow your work?
I would say my IMDb would be the best source to find my newest projects. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11350145/?ref_=tt_rv
