Although many sports require athletes to make split-second decisions, golf is a slow-paced game that requires careful planning and focus before making every swing. Fundamentals are essential in golf, but even more so is being mentally capable to block out distractions prior to a shot.
In this exclusive interview, we get to share with you how GOAT Brands LLC and founder Logan Sorensen are revolutionizing the golf industry with their proprietary product called Go Low, which is unlike any other performance based drink on the market.
What is Go Low and how does it help golfers?
“Go Low is an all natural, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free performance drink that does something all other energy drinks cannot. Energy drinks are known for high levels of caffeine. While this does increase alertness, it is at the cost of a higher heart rate, shaky hands, and higher stress (cortisol) levels to your body… all of which negatively impact an athlete’s ability to perform under pressure. Go Low on the other hand utilizes low-levels of caffeine. The amount of caffeine in Go Low is there simply to activate the adaptogenic ‘OG Blend’ in Go Low that creates elite focus with calm nerves and a sensation of composure and confidence. If focus is the common element between the two, then any athlete would choose calm nerves, composure, and confidence over increased heart rate, anxiousness, and stress. That is why Go Low is having so much success right now.” says Sorensen.
What makes your product unique and stand out within your industry?
“Go Low Shot was created to fill the gap in the athletic space between preparing for competition, and recovering from competition. There’s never been a product that helps athletes feel mentally and physically centered and composed during competition so that they can allow their hard work to pay off to its full potential. Regardless of how finely tuned an athlete may be, if their mind and spirit aren’t locked-in during competition, they can lose to inferior talent who is in a better mindset that day.”
What were the biggest challenges you have faced and how did you overcome them?
“One of the biggest challenges we face today as a new company is breaking into a highly competitive industry while also battling supply chain issues and inflation. We started this company knowing that there is a big gap in what athletes need and what they’re getting in the current market; and we’re filling that space with innovative, natural, and highly effective products that enhance the mental and physical experience of athletes. To us, customer experience is everything, so obviously we’re not going to compromise when it comes to using the highest quality ingredients. Dealing with supply chain issues that take 4 times longer than normal to make additional batches of product, and high quality ingredients becoming significantly more expensive, we have to keep a close eye on our progress and make good timing and volume decisions when we start getting close to selling out of our current supply. We want to make sure that if someone wants to try our product, we can fulfill that order and never have to turn a customer away because we didn’t plan better for the supply chain issues of our time.”
What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?
“One of the biggest things that I’ve learned in business is that most companies care most about their investors’ money and earnings, and that arbitrary profit goals end up poisoning companies because they start cutting corners to appease investors in the short term instead of building a company focused on continuing to benefit their customers more completely. I feel like if I could give my younger self advice, I would say look to do right by your customer first and foremost; and better profits will become a side-effect of their satisfaction. GOAT Brands was born from that philosophy, and I could not be more proud of what we are doing and the inspiration that flows from my team because of it. That inspiration really shines through in our products and I know our customers can feel it. It’s truly amazing.”
