German pianist and composer Justus Rümenapp and VENTS are teaming up for the premiere of their new single “A Place of Happiness”, the fourth release from his forthcoming album Retreat, out 29 July. The video sees Justus performing in the centre of a dark room, his presence and the piano a beacon for the audience. “Sometimes the path to happiness is not so easy to find,” he explains, “but when you have found it, there are moments when you can hardly believe your happiness.” The track reveals yet another piece of the album’s raison d’etre to create a musical space that allows its listener a reprieve, in any situation and any place.
Justus is one to watch: with a talent for intuitively drawing sentiments from his surroundings to capture both classical and nonclassical audiences, his pieces are steadily garnering millions of listens online. His skill has also led to working on soundtracks, such as the award-winning short film “Hope“ by Michael Scherrer. The album’s second single, “Different To Our Daily Lives”, has almost 750,000 streams, while the music video approaches 150,000 views.
