The eccentric and theatrical work of SamSeb Kierkegaard is catching attention! Listen to the latest EP ‘Luna: Fantasy Named Happiness’ which tells a whirlwind story of a boy from the city of Reality, Luna Moonlight the heroine, and Uncertainty the Monster. An alternative and atmospheric release which sounds absolutely massive; it is difficult to believe this was recorded in a bedroom with the intention not to disturb neighbours! For that reason, we ask you to play this loud and in full, as the aesthetic for each track journey’s the listener through darker pastures and represents many kinds of emotions. For fans of artful musicians such as Placebo and David Bowie, we strongly recommend keeping eyes and ears on SamSeb Kierkegaard.
“I wanted to become an artist in the hope that my music can be relatable to people, and perhaps be the guide to the light unique to individuals in the midst of their darkness.”
South Korean Alt-Rock artist SamSeb Kierkegaard is an exceptionally exciting creator, who explores the polarities of life through his incredibly intricate songwriting talents. At a young age, SamSeb came to understand his love for performing but hadn’t considered becoming an artist. In the loneliness of the UK 2020 lockdown, SamSeb was reminded of childhood feelings through a Holly Humberstone music video, and was prompted to write a song! He found his sound by discovering via his Spotify Release Radar, the dreamy, ethereal music of Canadian band Softcult, which resonated with him entirely. SamSeb’s music now captures the innermost dark emotions of many, including anxiety, depression, denial, rejection and he introduces philosophy on existentialism and fictional character personality to his efforts; musicians are not the only influence over SamSeb, as he has always been drawn to the work of Soren Kierkegaard and Tim Burton. After playing a successful Finsbury, London show in support of Gabrielle Ornate, we can’t wait to see how the tracks from the ‘Luna: Fantasy Named Happiness’ EP translates to his future performances!
“There’s something distinctly unique about Kierkegaard. In the same way that Bowie (who we can hear is a very clear influence on Kierkegaard) was one who followed his own path, Kierkegaard is someone who is producing music that is distinctly Kierkegaard. The music is eccentric art rock. It is unique and quirky and stands firmly in the self-belief of a true artist following their own path.”
